The Board approved the competitions of the Tenth Season (2018-2019), as well as the topics and fields, according to the recommendations submitted by the General Secretariat and the Technical Committee, as follows:
First: The Field of Economies (Renewable Energy):
The topic (Renewable Energy) was chosen as one of the economic challenges in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as renewable energy projects have come to the forefront and the policy agenda of these countries within their future sustainable development plans, which will witness the largest growth in this field globally.
Second: The Field of Literature (Telling Humanitarian Issues):
The Award aims to consolidate and confirm the presence of distinguished Arab novels, both Arab and international, related to human and societal issues, which comes in line with the Award’s message and encouragement of Arab thinkers.
Third: The Field of University Scientific Research (Scientific Research Papers):
University Scientific Research comes as a continuation of the Award’s contributions to qualitative University Scientific Research, as it achieves the motivation to improve research work in national universities and consolidates it in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development for Gulf and Arab societies.
Fourth: The Field of Fine Arts (Drawing, Sculpture, and Ceramics):
It comes from the support of the Award and encouraging fine arts and artists from the people of the Kingdom in its branches (drawing, sculpture, and ceramics) and in order to motivate creative and distinguished people to present their artistic creations, considering that art is one of the expressive messages and communication between emotions and ideas.
The Board also approved the advertising and media plan for the Tenth Season Competitions (2018-2019), which will begin, God willing, at the beginning of January 2019.
The Board of Trustees also approved the operating budget for the Award’s work, programmes, and accompanying activities, which will be announced later.
At the conclusion of the meeting, HE the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the Dignitary Khalid Mohamed Kanoo, thanked and appreciated the efforts and distinguished contributions of the members of the Board in order to advance the Award’s path and activities.
He extended his thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership, headed by His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, for their support and encouragement of such projects and initiatives in order to support and assist the creative and distinguished people of our dear country and brothers in our Arabian Gulf, emphasizing the interests of the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Family, through this Award, contribution and enrichment to support national, cultural and scientific projects in our dear homeland.
At the conclusion of his statement, he wished all the participants and competitors every success and more distinguished and qualitative giving in their fields of specialization and work.
